Campaign Highlight: #LightsOnAfterschool

America SCORES Chicago is proud to be a part of Afterschool Alliance’s annual Lights On Afterschool initiative. Since 2000, Lights On Afterschool has been celebrated nationwide to call attention to the importance of afterschool programs for America's children, families and communities. Today, more than 8,000 Lights On Afterschool rallies are held annually, attracting 1 million Americans and media coverage nationwide.

A proud associate for more than a decade, SCORES kicked off this partnership by holding a community Lights On Afterschool event after being awarded the 2011 MetLife Foundation Afterschool Innovator Award, a $10,000 grant to help fund middle school programming. Over the years, SCORES has looked forward to Lights On Afterschool as an opportunity to highlight the importance of afterschool programs, uplift our partner organizations, and stress the importance of more funding for afterschool programs nationwide.
