America SCORES Chicago Names Kimberly Townsend As Executive Director
Chicago, IL, July 17, 2024 – America SCORES Chicago is excited to announce Kimberly Townsend as its new Executive Director. Kimberly brings a wealth of experience in youth development, international relations, and community engagement, making her an ideal leader for the organization.
Kimberly's background includes a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Villanova University and a Master of Arts in International Relations from Webster University. She has served inner-city youth in Philadelphia and Chicago, worked as an Adolescent Mental Health Professional, and held leadership roles in various non-profits such as Urban Initiatives, buildOn, and JGG. Her dedication to social justice and empowerment has been evident throughout her career, including her international work in Cambodia and her role in spreading social-emotional learning in Chicago Public Schools.
America SCORES Chicago is also transitioning to a shared leadership model, highlighting our core value of teamwork. Jessica Mater will serve as Managing Director alongside Kimberly. Both will report to the Executive Board, ensuring collaboration and diverse perspectives, and fostering stronger, more inclusive decision-making to better serve our community.
