Announcement of Executive Director Transition
America SCORES Executive Director Amy Mummery works with a poet-athlete in preparation for the 2022 Red Carpet Poetry SLAM. Mummery will step down from her role as Executive Director after sixteen years of service to the organization.
CHICAGO, IL (February 23, 2022) – After sixteen years of tireless work and service to the mission and values of America SCORES Chicago, Amy Mummery has announced that she will be departing from her role as Executive Director in the early Summer of 2022. Mummery served as Education Director (2006-12) and Program Director (2012-17) prior to taking over as the organization’s Executive Director in 2017. She has been the driving force behind SCORES’ success, impact, and growth during her unparalleled tenure. Her vision and leadership will be greatly missed by the staff, Board, volunteers, poet-athletes, coaches, education leaders, and organizational partners.
Over the next several months, the Board will be conducting a thorough search to find America SCORES Chicago’s next Executive Director. It is its priority to find a dynamic leader with a true passion for SCORES’ mission: To inspire youth to lead healthy lives, be engaged students, and have the confidence and character to make a difference in the world. SCORES achieves this mission through daily after school and summer programming that combines soccer, poetry, and service-learning.
As is custom during periods of transition at SCORES, the organization will focus on and demonstrate its core values of teamwork, leadership, and commitment. SCORES wishes Amy the best of luck in her journey and looks forward to finding its next sport based youth development champion dedicated to serving students and families across Chicago.
